The iconic 50cc advertisements from India, especially in the 1970s and 1980s, reflect an era when light mopeds were the symbol of personal freedom and economic mobility for the Indian middle class. Brands like Luna, TVS and Hero Puch created nostalgic campaigns with catchy slogans that are still deeply rooted in popular memory today. Hero Puch perhaps the most famous 50cc machine in India, their advertisements in the early 90s were revolutionary, using celebrities (like a young Aamir Khan) to sell the concept of a powerful yet fuel-efficient moped.

Bajaj Cub (1985): A classic scooter ad that showcased the compact 50cc model as a nimble alternative for city commuting.

BSA Bond / BSA Falcon: Marketed as India's first "mini motorcycle" with 50cc. It was a bold attempt to sell a 50cc trail bike inspired by off-road riding.

Hero Puch: A two-stroke moped launched in 1988 in variants like Shakti, 2G and 3G. The advertisements focused on performance and fuel efficiency and became a huge success.

Luna (Kinetic Engineering Ltd): Known for its legendary slogan "Chal MeriLuna" (Go my Luna). These Luna ads positioned the mopeds as a reliable alternative that could even be pedaled like a bicycle if the engine failed to start.

Royal Enfield Mofa: An extremely simple 25cc/50cc moped from the 80s that was marketed as an alternative to the bicycle.

Suvega Samrat: An early 80s moped that was marketed as a rugged workhorse before the TVS 50 took over the market,

TVS 50: Launched in 1980, it quickly became a favorite. Ads for the TVS 50 often emphasized its durability and ability to carry entire families on Indian roads.
