Short "EXPRESS" engine story - not history because I'm not an expert only a "poor" amateur. 

Expresswerke A.G., Neumarkt/Oberpf. Nürnberg made their first 1-gear 50cc engine at the beginning of 1953, but already at spring 1954 one was able to purchase a 2-gear engine on the RADEXI moped. 1954 there was also other technical improvements on the M52 engine.

M53 2/3 gear (1955), pedal - starter, starting the engine without moving the moped.

Specifikation: 

Express 2-takts blockmotor, cylindervolym 49 cc. 

Effekt 0,8 hk vid 4.500 varv per minut. 

Stensholms svänghjulsmagnet kombinerad med belysningsgenerator. (Stenholm in Sweden!).

Koppling, frigång och kraftöverföring är inbyggda i motorblocket. 

Breda och djupa skärmar. Formsköna och tillförlitliga fullbromsnav. 

Motorn är tillverkad vid en av Tysklands äldsta fabriker.

Motor: Einzylinder-Zweitakt-EXPRESS- Blockmotor mit Umkehrspülung (Flachkolben), 42 mm Bohrung, 

36 mm Hub, Hubraum 49 ccm - Verdichtung 1:6, Leistung 1,2 PS bei 4500U/min.

Vergaser: Pallas 10 Z.

Zündlichanlage: ULZ 6/3/12 L - 6 V/3W. Zündzeitpungt 1,5-2 mm o.T.

Zündkerze: Beru 174/14 U, Bosch W 175 T1.

Schmierung: Gemich 25:1mit selbtmischendem Markenöl.

Kraftstoff-Verbrauch: 1,3 Liter bei 30 km Std.
